|Guest Artists - The Cotswold Beaders|
|It is my pleasure to introduce the Cotswold Beaders as my guest artists. They started as a group in January 2002, after several members of the Stour Valley Embroiderer's Guild took an interest in Angela Gibson's beading. Angela held a class for them and they decided to continue to meet as a group in the local village hall.
Sue Gilkes invited fellow members of the Beadworker's Guild to join too, and today the membership has grown to 25. As well as a monthly meeting the group also regularly hosts visiting tutors such as Heide Jenkins, Isobel Bunting, Liz Thornton and Sylvia Fairhurst. These well known teachers spend the day with the group teaching new designs and techniques. Twice a year the group goes to the Gower Peninsula to a beading retreat run by Julia Curtis.
|In 2004 the Cotswold Beaders won the group entry at the beadworkers Guild convention in Bristol, with a project entitled "Flight of Fancy". For this they made beaded butterflies which were displayed on an all white twig. Heather Brennan has compiled a book of patterns for these, which is available for purchase. Contact Heather Brennan|

|The group also entered the competition in 2005 with beaded flowers and leaves on a hat and handbag. Titled "Garden Party" this project also took first prize at the Beadworkers guild convention in Daventry.|
